This Palm Sunday message takes us beyond the familiar celebration of Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem to reveal a profound truth we often overlook: Jesus wept over the city. While crowds gathered, spreading cloaks and shouting praises, Jesus saw something heartbreaking—people who were lost, abused by religious systems, and deceived about what truly mattered. The Pharisees wanted silence, recognizing the prophetic significance but rejecting it anyway. Yet Jesus declared this was the appointed time, saying even the stones would cry out if people stayed quiet. But as He approached Jerusalem and looked through those city gates, He didn't see admirers—He saw beloved children of God who had no idea what was really happening. They didn't understand He was coming to bear the weight of their sin, to face judgment on their behalf, and to offer salvation they didn't even know they needed. This wasn't about political liberation or religious performance; it was about relationship and redemption. The powerful question for us today is whether we see our own cities the way Jesus saw Jerusalem. Do we look at our neighbors, coworkers, and strangers with that same compassion? Do we recognize that people around us are struggling under the weight of deception, cultural lies, and spiritual abuse? We hold the story of hope they desperately need, yet so often we keep it confined within church walls. The call is clear: we are the church, sent out as the hands and feet of Christ to a world that doesn't understand but is deeply loved by God.
